Since 1994 ISOCLIMA have supplied composite/glass windows for the Super Touring Championship BTCC (British Touring Car Championship), DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters), JGTC (Japan GT Championship), FIA GT1-GT2-GT3 (GT World Championship) and WTCC (World Touring Car Championship).
SPORT GLASS products
ISOCLIMA have developed a number of ECE-43 R road legal compositions, from 2.66mm to 5.36mm thickness, incorporating special chemically strengthened glass plies, for various vehicles across the entire range of FIA approved GT and WRC championships.
The main features of Isoclima SPORTS GLASS products include:
Where no minimum weight restrictions apply the 2.66mm construction offers weight saving of over 7kg per windscreen (high up weight);
Windscreens and Front Door glazings can include micro-wire heating for de-misting;
Anti-IR coatings reduce interior car temperatures by over 10℃;
All windows are based on original vehicle shapes but designed to individual team preferences.
SPORTS POLYCARBONATE products
The technology used in the manufacture of these lightweight glazings is derived from producing composite windshields for military aircraft. This has enabled the forming of complex shapes whilst retaining an excellent optical quality.
Main features of Isoclima POLYCARBONATE products include:
Over 50% weight saving (so lowering the centre of gravity) compared to an equivalent thickness glass windscreen;
Increased impact resistance and no Spall (glass fragmentation);
Proprietary coatings to de-mist and protect (hard coat anti-scratch);
Micro-wire heating systems;
Improved resistance to stone chips/cracking, reducing the need to replace windows - essential in endurance racing.
